 MEET ANDREW TRISTAN, RESIDENT SERVICES MANAGER

WHETHER IT’S A RESIDENT'S SMILE WHEN THEY SEE THEIR NEW HOME FOR THE FIRST TIME OR RESIDENTS BECOMING LIFELONG FRIENDS AT A COMMUNITY EVENT, I HAVE SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES IN MY ROLE TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON OUR RESIDENTS' LIVES.”

 

As Resident Services Manager at AVE Las Colinas, Andrew coordinates a seamless move in process for new residents, which includes sending out all arrival information to the future resident, preparing their keys and welcome folders, perfecting their apartment, and ensuring that the residents' needs are completely met as soon as they walk into their new home. He oversees the housekeeping team, assists with following up on work orders and helps with anything that creates the unparalleled living experience for the residents.

Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
My workday begins with our daily meeting, where team members share their agendas for the day ahead. A typical agenda for me includes situating our housekeeping team with their schedule, walking through our amenity spaces to gaurantee they are up to par for resident use and ensuring we have a walkable and welcoming apartment to show potential future residents. From there, every day is different depending on if there are new residents scheduled to move in or if there are community events being held, which I love to help plan and host with the team. 

Q: How long have you been working in this industry?
I joined AVE after almost a decade of working in the restaurant industry. I switched careers looking for a better quality of life as I was getting married at the time. I am so thankful for the opportunity, growth, and development I have experienced since joining AVE nearly 3 years ago. I couldn’t have asked for a better transition at that time in my life.

Q: What do you love most about being a part of the AVE team?
I love my team! My team members are a big reason that I have enjoyed my time at AVE so much over the last few years. I have dedicated a lot of time and effort into honing my skills as a Resident Services Manager but I would not be here without my team. We continue to grow together and consistently challenge one another to improve and make our community as great as it can be for our residents. If you’re reading this, this one's for you guys!

Q: What is your favorite amenity or service that AVE provides and why?
My favorite amenity that we offer is obviously the coffee machine! It is always a great opportunity to jump start your day and strike up conversation with our residents to confirm they are enjoying the Live Better® experience AVE offers. 

Q: What is your hometown?
Born and bred, Dallas, TX!

Q: What is your favorite hobby and why?
My favorite hobby is Magic the Gathering. I have a lot of friends that will get together to hang out and play. Nerdy? Yes. A lot of fun? Absolutely.

Q: What is your favorite spot in the Dallas/Las Colinas area and why?
My favorite spot in the whole city is the Trinity River Levee at dawn. I love the bike path there which is right next to my house. The best view of Dallas can be found at the Levee during sunrise, it is breathtaking.

Q: What are 3 fun facts about you that we might not know?
My wife is pregnant and we are expecting our first child in April — BEYOND EXCITED! I am the tallest person in my family at 6’4. I am big, loud, have a big heart and I am not afraid to show it. I am a diehard Dallas sports fan — Mavericks, Cowboys, Stars, and Rangers!
