On a windy February evening, a tree came crashing through Janet Olkowski’s bedroom while she and her husband Steve were lying in bed, forcing the couple to leave their home in Media, PA, while major repairs were made.
“It was very, very scary. We jumped up and called 911,” Janet recalls. “We were panicked, and we needed a place to go that would be comfortable for us and our dogs.”
Janet, a seasoned relocation professional, was familiar with AVE and their furnished apartments.
“The day after the tree fell, the team at AVE reached out to see how they could help,” Janet says.
The next day, Janet and Steve moved into a two-bedroom, fully furnished apartment at AVE with their two chocolate labs and suitcases.
“The furnished accommodations were spectacular,” Janet exclaims. “Everything in the apartment was very high quality, and it came fully equipped with dishes, furnishings, and everything we needed to live comfortably from a corkscrew to a coffee machine.”
While Janet appreciated the spacious and fully accessorized apartment, it was the flexible leasing and friendly service she valued most.
“The construction was supposed to be 6 weeks, which turned in to 10 weeks, which turned in to 12 weeks,” she shares. “The team kept saying ‘don’t worry,’ and of course I worried, but I really didn’t have to, because they took care of everything.”
Janet works from home, so she loved the on-demand business amenities – she often took calls from the business center so she wasn’t interrupted by her barking roommates.
“The business space was so convenient,” Janet says. “I didn’t need to bring my printer. They had WiFi. When the weather got warmer, my husband would work outside by the beautiful pool.”
After three and a half months, Janet and Steve were able to return home, but they miss the team and easy lifestyle at AVE so much, they are considering putting their house on the market, so they can rent at AVE.
“The team is just amazing!” she says. “I can’t say enough good things. I’m speaking from the heart. AVE made it convenient, comfortable, and a great place to go when I was in transition, and looking for a great place to go temporarily.”
