This August AVE and Tipsy Putt hosted a mini-golf tournament on Bay Street in Emeryville, California. It was part of Tipsy Putt's Sunday FUNDDay series, where they highlight and donate a portion of proceeds to a different charitable cause each quarter. The event marked a quarter-long partnership between AVE and Tipsy Putt to support Move For Hunger and its mission to reduce food insecurity in our communities.
"Our partnership with the AVE and Move For Hunger teams has been a rewarding experience. I’m fortunate to have had the opportunity to work collaboratively with both great organizations," says Tipsy Putt’s General Manager Kenji Tokunaga. "Throughout the course of our partnership, we’ve been able to source over a hundred boxes of food, as well as raise over $4,000 in funds to help support our local Bay Area communities and families in need. Supporting local communities through philanthropy is integral to our business."
Move For Hunger is a national nonprofit that operates on a local level by arranging food donations via moving trucks to community. Attendees had the opportunity to donate canned goods or to purchase food and beverages, with 100% of the proceeds being donated. The event generated $1,000 in funds and 113 boxes of canned foods. The total funds raised through the Sunday FUNDDay is an impressive $4,664.
“AVE Living has been a fantastic partner in the fight against hunger. The fundraisers they host throughout the year are always so creative and are great at spreading the word about the hunger crisis,” shares Adam Lowy, Founder and Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “The Tipsy Putt fundraiser during Hunger Action Month was a great idea to encourage donations - and we’ll be able to provide more than 12,000 meals to communities in need across the U.S. thanks to everyone who donated!”
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the event sponsors: Zillow Rentals, Kohler, SOCi, and Comcast, whose support played a pivotal role in making this event possible.
