A resident and team favorite tradition, AVE is PAWsome, fundraised for our furry friends for the third time this past May.
Every AVE location nationwide spent the month collecting donations, in honor of their four-legged residents who they love so much. These donations included items such as toys, food, beds, blankets and more. On top of this donation drive, AVE also made a monetary donation to a shelter of their choice for every pet move-in during May.
AVE partnered with shelters across the country, from Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia to Austin Humane Society and supplied them with 39 donation boxes.
Blue Bell Villas partnered with Home at Last, a volunteer rescue whose goal is to save dogs in need of a forever home. “The rescue is 100% volunteer,” explains Peggy West from Home at Last, “and is supported by donations such as cash, food, and other various pet supplies.”
The reason this event holds such importance is simple – AVE loves our pets! This love is showcased at AVE’s nationwide, as every location is pet-friendly and has amenities ranging from dog parks to treats, and even dog spas. So, while National Pet Month is a fan favorite here at AVE, we continue to celebrate our furry residents year-round.
“Our apartment communities are truly pet friendly,” says Breah Hernandez, Brand Communications Manager at AVE, who has spearheaded this campaign annually. “Pets are an important part of the family, and our teams really go above and beyond to make them feel welcome from daily treats at Resident Services to pet-focused amenities like spas and parks to pet-themed events like Yappy Hours and Pet Portraits.”
Sarah Sinen and her Pomsky puppy Sumo, have lived at
AVE Union for almost a year and always stop by Resident Services for a treat on their way out the door. “Sumo loves the team, they always ask to give him a treat,” says Sinen, “He’s very happy, he loves the other dogs and people here.” When Sumo is not getting a little sweet treat for himself, he also enjoys taking long walks in the spacious dog park.
