MEET LYNNE EDWARDS, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

As Business Development Manager at The Franklin Residences, Lynne develops relationships with local companies, hospitals, academic institutions, and individuals to share our fully furnished apartment service, so they know they have a flexible-stay housing partner when their employees, patients, or clients need a solution.

Q: What is your hometown?
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Q: How long have you been with Korman Communities?
I have worked for this wonderful family and Korman Communities for 21 years, starting in January 1999, after a long career at The Warwick Hotel. I have worked at The Franklin Residences for 10 years, which is currently managed by Korman Communities’ AVE brand.

Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
My days begin with a team huddle. I tour the property with prospective clients/future residents, as needed. Throughout the day, I engage in constant outreach to my client base by either personal phone calls or emails. I make outside sales calls. There is constant ongoing communication with the resident/guest to ensure their individual needs and requirements are met, and that their experience meets AVE/Korman standards. Each day, I work to book business in order to ensure our occupancy/revenue goals are met.

Q: What brings you the greatest satisfaction in your role?
I get the greatest satisfaction being able to sell this beautiful property, and ensuring residents feel at home and enjoy their stay. Many of my clients are in the medical vertical and their guests are going through a difficult time, some with a serious illness. It’s rewarding to make their stay seamless and them as comfortable as possible.

Q: What is your favorite amenity or service at The Franklin?
24 hour, on-site parking is a great selling point in the city. It affords the resident the convenience of not having to use remote parking at night or during inclement weather.
The service of a warm and welcoming environment provided by our Resident Services Desk, and the attention-to-detail and special requests handled by our housekeeping staff are also invaluable.

Q: What is your favorite quote and why?
“You can’t change the wind, but you can adjust the sails.”- Thomas S. Monson
This quote seemed most appropriate in how our team and company handled COVID-19; continuing to operate at the highest level and deliver exceptional resident services while balancing everyone’s safety.

Q: What is your favorite spot in Center City Philadelphia and why?
The Walnut Street Theatre, because of the variety and quality of their productions.

Q: What’s something interesting about you that we might not know?
I handled all Presidential visits and Presidential Campaign visits at The Warwick Hotel, from Advance Staff, Secret Service, Press, and the principles themselves.
